Anchorage Rowing Association is 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded in 1998 to bring the sport of rowing to Anchorage Alaska. Our on-the-water season starts when the ice breaks on Sand Lake in Anchorage (generally around the first week of May) and last until October when Sand Lake freezes. Our fleet of boats available to members includes 3 eight person shells, 2 fours+, 2 quad/four-, 3 pair/2x, 1 pair, and 2 singles. Our membership spans in age from 12 to 70+. We compete in-state, in the lower 48 states and internationally. We are a member club of U.S. Rowing, the national governing body for the sport of rowing.
