1) SUMMARY FROM ARA BOARD MEETING - November 12, 2008
Eight board members in attendance and three guests.
Discussion items as follows:
1 - Communication – Large committee is actively pursuing revamping of several aspects of team communication. Future efforts will be made to improve communication and relationship between the board and coaches. A message board will be put into place for trial use by members.
2 - Equipment - Most of our ergs are now in good working condition and two new ergs plus two sets of slides have been ordered. Boats are now in Wasilla. Efforts are underway to find a new four/quad. Erg clinic was well attended and received.
3 - Venue Racing – Racing between two new Concept2 model D ergs could be possible in the future.
4 – Fundraising - Opportunities for ARA are being explored. Board retreat is being planned.
5 – Retreat - Membership will be invited to send in ideas/topics for retreat and to attend – time, date, location and agenda items TBD.
2) NEW ERG WORKOUT SESSIONS - Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm for the month of November. Please sign up on the Team Calendar for any erg sessions you plan to attend so your teammates won't have to row alone!

4) ERG ROOM SCHEDULE – Please look at the calendar on the ARA website for weekly group rows!
5) VOLUNTEERS AT SAND LAKE - We are compiling the number of hours that volunteers worked at Sand Lake in the 2008 season. If you were a volunteer at any time during the season, please send a e-mail with the number of hours you worked to teammanager@anchoragerowing.com. Thanks!
