Learn to row in an 8 person sweep rowing shell (this is where you have a 13 foot oar and you are either a port or a starboard). Sculling is when you have two 10 foot oars in your hands. You will be rowing both single and multiple person shells. This class starts with a mandatory pool/safety/technique session on June 5, 2021 Service High School Pool, 11:00AM to 1:30PM. This class option will have you rowing on Monday and Wednesday weeknight sessions (6-8PM): June 7, 9, 14, 16 at our Sand Lake facility. Directions are on our website. Dress warm and in layers because June can be warm or cold on the water. Your pants/shorts need to be non-baggy and stretchable to give you the ability to bend your knees completely. We launch our shells off a dock so you will not need to get in the water, but keep in mind it is a WATER sport so getting wet is an inevitability. 100% cotton is generally not recommended.
